‘Beastie Boy’ Adam Yauch Diagnosed With Cancer
Adam Yauch, 1/3 of the Beastie Boys trio, annouced via YouTube that he has been diagnosed with cancer of the salivary gland. The group was scheduled to drop a new album this year and headline the All Points Festival next week, but due to this unfortunate reality, will have to push everything back.
Yauch, who will undergo surgery next week, noted that this type of cancer is definitely treatable and will not affect his vocal speech.
Regrettably, in canceling the tour, Yauch understands the seriousness of his diagnosis and wanted to stop any possible spread of the cancer early on. As of now, the cancerous tumor is only in one concentrated area and doctors are optimistic in removing it entirely.
