He’s newly single. She’s newly single. It seems like the story book ending we’ve all been clamoring for. That is, that Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson would eventually get back together.
Not happening, says Lachey.
“I think it’s fun storytelling, but there’s very little truth to any of it,” the former 98 Degrees singer told People.com. “I certainly have heard about her breakup and I wish her the best, as I’ve always done. Aside from that, there really is nothing to say.”
Jessica Simpson, the blonde bombshell singer who was married to Lachey for about four years, was recently dating Dallas Cowboys starting quarterback Tony Romo. However, the two split up last week. Both parties are, reportedly, pretty upset about the whole thing. People also reports that Simpson is “sad, mad and confused,” while Romo is, “emotionally drained.”
Lachey, on the other hand, was recently dating former MTV personality Vanessa Minnillo, but they too broke up a few weeks ago. “With every experience, you learn something about your life, and you try to take that and move on and be a better person because of it. We’ll see what happens,” he said.
So while it seems like the timing is perfect for a reunion, Lachey said he hadn’t spoken to Simpson in about two years. Sorry, “Newlyweds” fans, no third season on the horizon.
Yeah, they were kinda cute together the first time. But another go? No thanks. Too much drama. Plus, typically when a couple goes through a messy divorce, it’s for a reason.
And with two years without talking? Yeah, not gonna happen.
