Next time you want to butt heads with Kiefer Sutherland, be careful. He’s going to get away with it.
In May, the “24″ and “Lost Boys” star was charged with head butting fashion designer Jack McCollough in a New York City nightclub. The attack was called “vicious, violent and unprovoked” according to a statement released by McCollough at the time. Sutherland went so far as to issue a public apology after the fact.
Tuesday, though, the misdemeanor assault charges were dropped in a Manhattan court leaving Jack Bauer free and clear, just like he was on this past season of “24.”
“We decided to drop the charge after a full investigation, including after speaking to a complaining witness, who was uncooperative,” Alicia Maxey Greene, a spokeswoman for the Manhattan District Attorney’s office, told CNN Tuesday.
With the charges dropped, Sutherland actually got out of another crime too – parole violation. He is still currently under parole for a 2007 drunk driving arrest and there was talk in the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office to possibly charge him with violating parole if convicted of the assault charges. Nothing will come of the incident now that charges have been dropped, according to Reuters.
So not only can Kiefer Sutherland dodge bullets on TV, he can do the same in real life too.
