Michelle Obama’s New Hair Cut: Short, Fun & Sassy

Early last night, First Lady Michelle Obama debuted her new, stylish and extra-short hairdo at a country music celebration in the East Room of the White House. And judging by crowd reactions, it was well received. Switching from her classic shoulder length bob, the First Lady shortened the sides and the back, keeping her side-sweeping bangs and making for a look at once sharp, modern and – again – classic. This, coupled with her already impeccable style, only goes to show why it is she, and not her husband, who has the higher favorability ratings.
The event, which featured performing country stars such as Alison Krauss, Charley Pride, Union Station and Brad Paisley as well as a morning workshop for young teens from Pennsylvania, Virginia and Tennessee, was the second in a series of music and arts promotion events Michelle has started since entering the White House. The first such event focused on jazz and her third is planned for the fall and will promote classical music.
