All girls love three things: flowers, chocolate and “The Notebook.”
The film is a love story about two young people (Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams) who fall in love early in life only to have it briefly, and sadly, rekindled when they are much older. Released in 2004, the film has remained popular and a pop culture staple because it is the kind of movie that can make even the most manly man weep.
Well, as originally reported by Perez Hilton, the producing team of Galeotti & Aniello are trying get a musical version of the movie, which was originally a novel by Nicholas Sparks, up and running in North Carolina.
Who are Galeotti & Aniello you ask? Well Bethany Joy Galeotti can currently be seen as Haley James Scott on the show “One Tree Hill,” on which she also recently started directing episodes. Ron Aniello is a music producer who has worked with Barenaked Ladies, Lifehouse, Guster and others.
The official Web site for the show is currently looking for actors to help “assist the creative team in visualizing, editing and critiquing the play as well as to garner Producer interest and investors. There is no pay, but this is a great opportunity to be a part of the beginning stages of an original theater piece headed for Broadway.”
So if you are an out of work actor who loves “The Notebook,” maybe hop a flight to North Carolina. Or just wait and see if it gets off the ground. Even the best musicals take several years from this stage to make it to Broadway.

No pay, really? You’d think a big-time production like The Notebook could afford to pay their actors.
It’s a WORKSHOP people. Read. It’s a process.
Not a difficult to understand. The musical hasn’t made it to Broadway yet.
