It’s a little weird for me to tell people what they should be wearing, although my sister and mom might disagree. I generally like to encourage personal style, so when it comes to determining summer shoe trends, I find it hard to tell people what hot footwear they should slip on.
Ultimately, the decision is yours. But, I will say this, for Summer 2009, when it comes to your feet, go bold! Whether it be color or shape or the details, go all out. Forget about the flip flops (for the most part) and go for sandals. They are just as easy to get on and off, just as comfortable and they look more polished.
One shoe trend I’m obsessed with for the summer is fringe! Check out some of these styles from Balmain, Naughty Monkey and Anthropologie. And never be afraid to check out vintage stores. Last year I scored an amazing pair of pink-leather fringed sandals that will be on-point this summer.
When it comes to straps and embellishments, the more the merrier. Gladiator sandals are still big as well as sandals with jewels and studs. And summer’s hot heals will come in every color in the rainbow. Dolce Vita’s pump is perfect for a summer date.
