Gidget the Chihuahua, who was made famous for his classic “Yo Quiero Taco Bell” commercials, died last night at the age of 15. The energetic dog that kept fast food fans smiling had been taking it easy these last couple of years.
Gidget first broke onto the scene in 1997 with Taco Bell’s “Yo Quiero” campaign. However, as of late Gidget had been sleeping an awful lot and enjoyed laying out in the sun for most of the day.
Sometimes I wonder how these dogs are compensated. I know the owners get paid, but does it ever really trickle down to the star. From what I’ve heard, the owners of Gidget were great people and took care of their Chihuahua as if he was their child.
Rest in peace Gidget, you will truly be missed.
