You may remember Susan Boyle, the underdog singer in the talent show, “Britain’s Got Talent,” who stole hearts and gasps worldwide when she sang, “I Dreamed a Dream.” Well, in the original performance, Boyle said that she had always idolized the British musical theater icon, Elaine Paige.
Boyle did not win the “Britain’s Got Talent,” competition and spent several days in a clinic where she was reportedly exhausted from the sudden fame and media spotlight. Meredith Viera of NBC’s Today Show interviewed Boyle recently and asked about Boyle’s time at the clinic. Boyle replied,” “Well, when people get exhausted, they automatically have to have a rest. That was pretty much necessary at the time. I needed a rest, just to get away.”
Looking well-rested and composed, Susan Boyle answered Vieira’s questions about her sudden rise to fame and the repercussions that came along with it. The best part of the interview was seeing Boyle’s face light up when her childhood idol, Elaine Paige, walked out to meet Boyle on camera. Take a look at the video below: Lesson…Dreams can come true, even for all you jaded people out there.
