Tanning Beds And Skin Cancer

tanning_bed

Recent studies done by an international cancer research group show that tanning beds are a major cause of skin cancer. In 2006, a research analysis showed that consumers under the age of 30 using tanning beds are at 75% more risk of acquiring skin cancer.

Although, tanning beds were never really know for being healthy, this new study shows that every time you use a tanning bed, your risk of getting Melanoma increases. Surprisingly, tanning salons across the country haven’t been affected by this recent study. It might be too early to tell, but most store owners believe that those who frequent tanning salons could care less about the dangers.

Sometimes you wonder if the price of beauty is worth it. But then again, if doctor’s all over the country are telling you that using this machine will increase your risk of cancer, you should probably stop.
