At last! The worlds of movie fanboys and celebutard gossip addicts shall finally meet! Word on the street is Robert Rodriguez has offered Lindsay Lohan a part in his upcoming film Machete. The project was originally introduced to the world as one of the fake trailers in the Grindhouse double feature by Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino. The trailer featured Danny Trejo as a machete-wielding vigilante out for revenge, and even boasted a short and hilarious Cheech Marin cameo.
There is no word yet on what kind of role has been offered to Lindsay, if it was written for her, if they are truly in any kind of negotiations, if she will have to audition, or if she will be on screen for more than 5 minutes. So basically, it might still be crazy internet gossip! Linds recently tweaked her hair color and informed fans via her elucidating Twitter feed that this was for an unnamed movie. I should have put elucidating in quotes. Sorry.
So what do you think? I’ve often thought that Lindsay should play more ‘to type’ and choose roles where she can be a little unhinged, wild and crazy. Her more innocent days are long, long behind her and nobody’s going to take her seriously as the romantic lead or sweet girlfriend type anymore. Lindsay needs a more formidable enemy besides a stationary tree, her skinny DJ ex-girlfriend, or a pack of voracious paparazzi.
