The two Current TV journalists, Euna Lee and Laura Ling, who were imprisoned in a North Korea jail were finally pardoned by President Kim Jong Il. Former president Bill Clinton recently made a trip out to North Korea in hopes of bringing the two journalists back. It looks as though he was successful.

According to reports, the two young journalist had been imprisoned since March and sentenced to 12 years in prison after being found guilty for “entering the country illegally to conduct a smear campaign.”

After arriving in North Korea this morning, Clinton was graciously greeted by North Korean officials this morning. It is more than likely that the his trip along with Secratary of State Hilary Clinton’s address to North Korea last month, is the reason these two women were released. As a side note, the United States does maintain diplomatic relations with North Korea.
