The popular feature film director of cult classics like “Sixteen Candles” and “The Breakfast Club” died today at the age of 59. Hughes was in Manhattan visiting family when he suffered a heart attack during a morning jog.
Hughes’ films were a hit in the 80’s and early 90’s from Ferris Buellers Day Off to Home Alone, he had a gift for making timeless classics.
I don’t know what it is about this summer, but it seems like more and more celebrities are passing on. Just another reminder to cherish ever single day.
My personal favorite Hughes movie was Home Alone. I recite quotes from that movie all the time and love it. John Hughes was a husband, father and grandfather. He will be truly missed.
