The end of summer is sad, but there is always the new Fall TV season to perk us back up. And I’m not ashamed to admit that I’m psyched for the return of one of my favorite guilty pleasures, CW’s “Gossip Girl,” which features witty and sarcastic writing about the lives of the rich and privileged youngsters of New York’s Upper East Side. Do I feel bad for these gorgeous and rich kids who don’t seem to have a care in the world? No, not really. But I think that Leighton Meester’s portrayal of bratty, sometimes vulnerable “Blair Waldorf,” makes for excellent TV viewing. (Or my preferred method, watching it online)

Meester currently graces Harper’s Bazaar magazine and gives us a glimpse into her life as an actress/singer (The girl can sing!)/ and how the sex tape rumors are not true. Here are a few notable quotes:

On the Sex Tape: “[The tape] is not real so it makes me sort of sad. It’s unfortunate that it got carried as far as it did. I definitely understand the nature of people better now and that the mere allegation of something like that could be headline news. People think it’s real because somebody says it is.”

On Aging: “Any fear of aging, I think, is simply vanity. Because what comes with age is so many wonderful things: wisdom, understanding…. Every year, I’m always happy to be done with the previous age. Sixty, that doesn’t seem old to me. I think it comes from my mom going, That’s not old! She’s in her 50s, but she looks like she’s in her early 40s. If you get a wrinkle, I don’t feel that’s indicative of your losing ground. That’s ridiculous. But I do support Botox. If people want that, do it.”

Meester seems like she’s just getting started. Oh, and did you know that she’s in a song right now by Cobra Starship, “Good Girls Go Bad,” that is rising rapidly on Billboard’s Top 100? Check out the vid:
