DISTRICT 9
Produced by Peter Jackson (Lord of the Rings), District 9 tells the creepy story of aliens who are held as refugees in South Africa, away from any human contact. When the organization MNU (Multi-National United) wants the aliens’ weapons, they hunt for Wilkus Van Der Mu, the one man who has the power to activate the weapons. District 9 refers to the one place that Wilkus is safe.
THE TIME TRAVELER’S WIFE
Rachel McAdams and adorable Aussie Eric Bana star in this romance based on the popular sob-inducing novel (seriously, the pages of mine are all wrinkly). Bana plays Henry De Tamble, a man who travels through time automatically, without the ability to control his trips. It turns out to be a bit of a curse when he falls in love with Claire (McAdams) and can’t stay by her side throughout their relationship.

Is it wrong that I want to see this? Vanessa Hudgens stars alongside my Friday Night Lights crush Scott Porter, Alyson Michalka and Gaelan Connell in this PG kids’ flick about a new kid in town who forms a rock band. Drama ensues. Plus there’s romance! And a Battle of the Bands! Pull out your lighters, I mean cell phones. I’m so there.
