Troubled country singer Mindy McCready is known for getting arrested and getting cast on Celebrity Rehab (you’ll have to wait til next year for those gems). And now she’s also famous for stealing a sex tape.
It’s not actually a sex tape according to the video’s stars Eric Dane, Rebecca Gayheart and Kari Ann Peniche (the Miss Teen USA who infamously lost her crown because of nude photos in Playboy). TMZ reports that the video, shot over two years ago in Peniche’s apartment, shows the threesome prancing around naked, calling each other silly nicknames and hanging out in the bathtub – but there’s no actual sex involved.
Peniche claims that McCready – her roommate from Celebrity Rehab – stole the computer that contained the video after the two had an argument about money. Worried, Peniche called the cops and the whole matter was sorted out with lawyers. Dane was given full rights to the video last month, but the video surfaced on the Internet yesterday, bringing the whole issue back into the spotlight.
Thirty-three year-old McCready released four successful county albums from 1996-2002, but hasn’t had a hit in the last seven years. She’s remained in the headlines instead because of her rocky personal life.
