You know it’s a slow news day when reputed publications are critiquing First Lady Michelle Obama’s shorts. After being spotted at the Grand Canyon with her family for a hiking trip, paparazzi flashed pictures of Mrs. Obama stepping off the plane in a regular pair of shorts. They were not too short and the whole media fuss around this is ridiculous!
First it was President Obama’s “Mom Jeans” now its Michelle’s shorts, I really can’t imagine what’s next. The “Today Show” even asked the question “Should the first lady be wearing shorts?” The title of their segment was called “Pushing the Envelope.” I mean really, this was just too much.
I understand the news is suppose to be entertaining, but a lot of the time they are reaching too far for stories. Unfortunately, I predict we’ll see even more ridiculous claims by the media about fashion no no’s in the White House.

She is an Icon and must represent her role with some elegance and dignity! She is not hiking or staying at the Arizona desert on the picture. She is leaving the Airforce One plane, she could have worn a nice light summer dress and even a nice hat to protect her lovely face from the sun, be elegant, be distinguised, be the role model as First Lady of the White House. Then she could have changed clothes after all the protocol ritual. I deeply believe she is not just any american woman, she is the First Lady of the United States of America, She must represent the country with the highest standards in every aspect of her life!

Jackie O was never photographed getting off AirForce One in shorts. Of course she wore shorts–in appropriate situations. Jackie was trim and wore clothes that fit her in flattering proportions. Just because you can squeeze into something doesn’t mean you should. Michelle has no taste and never will. A cardigan to meet the Queen of England? Tacky, tacky, tacky, And yes, I know, I’m sure Jackie O was photographed wearing a cardigan. But not having tea with the Queen! If ever an occasion calls for a beautiuflly cut suit in a beautiful fabric! Michelle has no idea what to wear, where to wear it or when to wear it. I supsect the same goes for you.
