Oh, it seems like years since Heidi Klum last bid us Auf Wiedersehen. After a long legal battle between the Weinsteins (who produce the show) and NBC Universal (parent company of the show’s old network, Bravo), Project Runway has moved to Lifetime – and season 6 premieres this Thursday August 20 at 10 pm.
Favorite contestants from past seasons will compete for $100,000 in a one-time-only event. Like always, they’ll be designing for judges Heidi Klum, Michael Kors and Nina Garcia – and fortunately they’ll have their optimistic muse Tim Gunn by their sides to help them “make it work,” as well. Designers participating in the challenge include Daniel Vosovic (Season 2), Santino Rice (Season 2), Jeffrey Sebelia (Season 3), Uli Herzner (Season 3), Mychael Knight (Season 3), Chris March (Season 4), Sweet P (Season 4) and Korto Momlu (Season 5).
The regular season will start the following Thursday, with sixteen designers ready to compete for one of three chances to show their collection at New York’s Fashion Week. The winner of Project Runway Season 6 will receive an editorial feature in an issue of Elle magazine, a cash prize of $100,000 to start their own line and an an all-expenses-paid trip for two to Paris. In addition, the winning model will receive a $25,000 cash prize from L’Oreal and take part in the winning designer’s fashion spread in Marie Claire magazine.
