What Does Your Boyfriend Think of Your Boyfriend Jeans?

Girls love boyfriend jeans. And, guys love their girlfriends. But, do guys love their girlfriends’ boyfriend jeans?

That is the question of the hour. Not that a guy’s opinion really matters when it comes to women’s clothing. It’s a well-known fact that women dress to impress other women. But, let’s consider the men for a minute and hear what they have to say about this ongoing trend worn by celebs like Katie Holmes and Reese Witherspoon.

 I took a poll of the guys in my office to find out what they think about the boyfriend jeans trend. The results are mixed.

Chris generally likes the look of boyfriend jeans on girls, but only when styled with a nice top or worn with high heels (a la Emmanuelle Chriqui’s character Sloan in Entourage). If the look is too slouchy, then it just looks like the girl is trying to look like a guy, and that’s not attractive, he says.

Mike likes the look of the jeans and thinks they’re cool, but added that he does not fancy himself a “steward of style” by any means.

On the other hand, guys like Curtis and Chin have nothing good to say about boyfriend jeans. “My girls’ jeans have to fit snug and hug her tight so it shows her figure,” Curtis says.  “If they want to be comfortable just wear sweats.”

Chin doesn’t think they flatter the female figure and look more like outdated Gloria Vanderbilt or Levi’s jeans. Why not just pull out your old denim and wear that if you want the slouchy, ripped boyfriend look, he suggests.
