Fave Celeb Meltdowns

Last month, the fading O.C. starlet Mischa Barton punctuated her fall into obscurity with a final gasp by being placed in an involuntary psychiatric hold by the LAPD before heading over to the Cedars Sinai booby hatch (after, of course, showing up on the Internet giving interviews while completely high and speaking in a fake British accent), which reminded us how much we love a good celeb flame out.

And without further ado, our favorites:

5. Britney Spears

The head shaving. The fake accents (what is it with this?). The driving with the baby in her lap. The holding the baby hostage in the bathroom in a stand off with the police. The curbside cell phone meltdowns. The 200 outfit changes. Oh, trailer park trash, how fun you are.

4. Mariah Carey

Nothing like an overweight diva going nuts on TRL with rainbows and popsicles and leaving ranting messages to her ‘lambs’ on her website to land her in the hospital for ‘exhaustion.’

3. Martin Lawrence

When the only thing I remember you for is wandering around traffic waving a gun at people and raving, you know you’ve made it.

2. Anne Heche

I am quite enjoying her on Hung right now, but it is pretty impressive that she invited herself into someone’s Fresno house to use their shower and then tell them she was waiting for her spaceship to heaven. Poor little thing.
