Ryan Jenkins Dies of Apparent Suicide

The saga of Megan Wants a Millionaire contestant Ryan Jenkins just turned operatic. CNN reports that days after being suspected of murdering his wife, swimsuit model Jasmine Fiore, Jenkins was found dead yesterday in a Canadian motel room, hanging from a coat rack after an apparent suicide.

“It was a man hanging by a belt from a coat rack,” said Kevin Walker, the manager of the budget Thunderbird Motel. He added that Jenkins had been dropped off at the motel on Friday by a 20- to 25-year old woman driving a silver PT cruiser with Alberta license plates. The police have not been able to identify her.  Canadian authorities knew Jenkins was in Canada and had put out a call for him to turn himself in earlier yesterday. 

Jenkins had fled to his home country of Canada after being suspected in Fiore’s gruesome death. She was found last weekend after being strangled, stuffed in a suitcase and thrown in the trash in Buena Park, California. Her teeth and fingers were also removed, and authorities were only able to identify her by the serial numbers on her breast implants.

Jenkins was a contestant on the new VH1 reality show Megan Wants a Millionaire, but the show was quickly cancelled when he became a person of interest in the investigation of Fiore’s death. In case you’re wondering why a guy married to a swimsuit model would be competing for Megan, there have been (unconfirmed) reports that Jenkins and Fiore had annulled their marriage.
