It’s official. Polyvore.com is my new favorite website. And it seems to be popular with others as well.
Not even the websites of Vogue, InStyle or Harper’s Bazaar can compare to the amount of traffic that Polyvore.com gets per month. Not doubt it’s the fact that on Polyvore you can basically act as your own fashion editor….and shop at the same time! Think of it as the Flickr of fashion websites. Then again, it makes sense that the site resembles Flickr, as both have ties to Yahoo. Go figure, who would have thought three techy computer guys would have created the most popular fashion website out there?
Really, I can’t even begin to explain how much time I am going to waste in the future creating my own fashion layouts on Polyvore. No work will get done. None.
The site has everything, from the high-end to clothes from Gap and Topshop. Users upload most of the photos and create spreads inspired by everything from Gossip Girl to bow ties.
If the big-wigs at all the top fashion magazines had any sense at all, they’d take a note from Polyvore’s methods. And perhaps start using the site to find future staffers.
Ok, I’m off. I’ve got lots of work to do on Polyvore.com.
