Former supermodel and current TV personality Tyra Banks was recently spotted at a restaurant in Los Angeles (Little Next Door), which isn’t all that interesting. However, who she was spotted with was: her elusive, yet longtime boyfriend John Utendahl. Even more interesting though? What she was spotted with: a big ol’ rock on her left ring finger. Yep, it would appear that Ms. Tyra and Mr. Utendahl are looking to tie the knot.
According to Tyra, though, this is not only untrue, but the allegation, itself, is insulting. I mean, becoming engaged to your longtime lover? As if! But really, what was that old Shakespeare line, “Thou doth protest too much?” Yeah, that sounds about right. Especially as Tyra recently packed up her bags and moved her and her two shows – The Tyra Banks Show & America’s Next Top Model – to New York. Which also just so happens to be the home of Utendahl. A coincidence, I’m sure.
As to who this might-be-might-not-be-fiancee is? Well, not a lot is known about 50-year-old John Utendahl, but what is known is that he’s a successful businessman, and he’s rich. It’s also known that he’s the chairman of the largest African-American investment bank in the US, Utendahl Capital Management LP.

I don’t know, it’s a big ring – and on her ring finger, sure – but it doesn’t really look all that blingin’. Especially for an engagement ring from a wealthy business dude? I mean, it’s Tyra, she’s gonna want something that shines!
