We’ve all heard about the Oprah effect – one mention on her show and your book or CD or small business can be catapulted into the big time. Remember when she featured that KFC coupon and her army of fans basically broke the company’s website?

So one would imagine that if Oprah doesn’t like you, you’re screwed in an equally monumental way. According to E Online, Chris Brown doesn’t seem to care. The R&B singer who broke his silence about assaulting his ex-girlfriend Rihanna and appeared on Larry King Live two nights ago told People magazine that he was offended by her domestic abuse-themed (and Chris Brown-inspired) episode last spring. ”I commend Oprah on being like, ‘This is a problem,’ but it was a slap in my face,” he said. Ironic choice of words, no?

He was particularly peeved since he has helped out with her organizations in the past. “I did a lot of stuff for her, like going to Africa and performing for her school,” he said. She could have been more helpful, like, ‘OK, I’m going to help both of these people out.’”

Oprah responded to Chris Brown’s beef with a rather cold plate of her own: ”Oprah is very appreciative that Chris Brown performed at her school, but she takes domestic abuse very seriously,” A spokeswoman for the maven said. “She hopes he gets all the counseling he needs.”

After pissing off the big O, he may need more than counseling…help, where’s his publicist??

I think it's a little too late for a publicist. But yeah, a therapist would be great at this point. Brown just doesn't seem to get that what he did was a big deal.
