Michaela Watkins & Casey Wilson Dropped From SNL

And on Labor Day Weekend? Bitch, pleeeeeeze!

Lorne Michaels, the creator, producer and all-around mastermind behind Saturday Night Live, dropped big news today, announcing that both Michaela Watkins and Casey Wilson will no longer be on the show. A surprise, to say the least, for not only Watkins and Wilson, but for the staff and SNL fans as well. Especially for Michaela Watkins, as she had found a lot of success this past season. Now, SNL had already made news earlier this week when it hired both Jenny Slate and Nasim Pedrad on for the 35th Season, but at the time fans of the show believed they would be additions, not replacements.

Watkins responded to the news by expressing “shock” and “sadness” as “it just felt premature.” Nevertheless, not one to stay down she also said, “But on some level I feel like there are so many opportunities and things that I want to do in the future and now they’ll just happen sooner rather than later.” As well as, “I just want to make people laugh, and I want to do that the best way possible.”

Let’s hope this is just the beginning of her career.

One Response to Michaela Watkins & Casey Wilson Dropped From SNL

  1. Wow, that’s too bad. Hopefully they both can find success elsewhere. I mean, it’s not like SNL is the BIG DEAL it once was. There’s life after it. Careers too.
