Arianne Prevost (23) Catches Alligator On Her First Try

Badass or insane? I’ll let you decide. According to Florida Today, Arianne Prevost, a 23-year-old from Satellite Beach, Florida, caught an alligator on her very first hunting trip – and she did it with a crossbow. The nighttime adventure was part of the state’s annual public alligator hunt (road trip anyone?).

Arianne went out on the hunt as part of Native Sons Outfitters, a group that includes Captain Peter Deeks and her boyfriend, Robert Rothman, and she wound up with an 11-foot beast that probably weighs around 450 pounds. She caught the sucker in the marshland between Lake Washington and Lake Winder.

Though it was her first alligator hunt, Arianne’s been hunting other creatures for a while. “I’m originally from Mississippi, so I used to hunt there with my dad,” she said. “When I moved down here, I wasn’t into it as much because the deer are so small, but I’ve never been gator hunting at all. I’ve been duck hunting.”

Arianne started hunting with a bow about two years ago but missed last year’s gator hunt because she was pregnant (her daughter is now 10-months-old). But now that she’s had a taste of victory, she’ll be back for more. ”I can’t seem to kill a deer, but I can kill an 11-foot alligator,” she said. You go, girl!
