Lab Worker Raymond Clark Arrested for Murder of Annie Le

Raymond-Clark-1

Yale University lab technician Raymond Clark was arrested this morning and charges with the murder of student Annie Le, the graduate student whose body was found in the basement wall of an off-campus medical research building, CNN reports. Police made the arrest at a Super 8 Motel in Cromwell, Connecticut, where Clark had stayed after being released yesterday following DNA testing.

Hours later, Clark appeared in court but did not enter a plea; he only confirmed that his rights had been read to him. Clark, whose bond is set at $3 million, will return to court on October 6. New Haven Police Chief James Lewis said that Le’s death was a case of “workplace violence” but did not elaborate.

Le’s body was found on Sunday and it was determined that she had been stranged. Tragically, the 24 year-old pharmacology student’s wedding had been planned for that same day. She was last seen on surveillance footage walking into the research building at 10 Amistad St – but there is no footage of her ever leaving.

Lewis did not say whether DNA led to Clark’s arrest. “This arrest warrant has been sealed, so no further information can be released in order to comply with this court order,” he said.

So the mystery continues…the question on my mind is: why would Le’s coworker do this to her?
