Let’s face it, a stylish boy is hard to find. Even I had trouble coming up with a list of sartorially above-average celebrity men. First of all, I’m sick to death of Brad Pitt and George Clooney in all their suave glory. It’s tired. They still look nice, but I’m no longer impressed. And then there is the new crop of heartthrobs (the Zac Efrons and Chace Crawfords of the world) skulking around in beanies, skinny jeans and plaid shirts…not to mention their side-swept bangs. Enough!
Here are the guys I think fall nicely in between the Clooneys and Efrons, garnering my nod for best arm candy:
5. Josh Hartnett
Sure, he’s fallen off the radar a bit, but he’s got a couple movies in the works. And recent pics of him strolling around New York City and at red carpet events here and there are proof that he’s become quite the dashing man. Not that he wasn’t always dreamy, but with the slight mustache and his recent penchant for thick-framed glasses and dark jeans, he seems to have developed a fashion sense.
4. Ryan Gosling
He might be way “too cool for school,” if you know what I mean, but he certainly knows how to dress. From a tux to a suit to uh, jeans and a sleeveless t-shirt, he pulls off whatever he’s wearing. And he has the smirk of a man who knows he looks good. But, who cares, he does.
3. Ryan Reynolds
Maybe his stylish wife Scarlett Johansson has had an effect of his wardrobe. Of late, he’s been looking really sharp. Did you see the three-piece navy suit he wore in London while promoting The Proposal!? It doesn’t get much better than that.
2. Joseph Gordon-Levitt
He’s quirky and adorable. Hello! Did you see 500 Days of Summer? Granted, that was a movie, but in real life Joe can still pull off a tailored Thom Browne suit as good as his character, Tom. Whether it’s jeans and a t-shirt during the day or a monochromatic suit on the red carpet, he makes whatever he wears look good.
1. Bradley Cooper
Bradley is the poster boy for Summer 2009. From The Hangover to All About Steve, he’s all over the place. And he looks good. Not one to wear a tie, at least, that’s what it seems, he prefers a more casual unbuttoned collar with suit jacket look. And it works.
