Ernie Anastos Apologizes for “Keep F—ing That Chicken” Remark (VIDEO)

I love videos of Newscasters Gone Wild. I understand it – it must get pretty boring and repetitive just to sit there and read a teleprompter every day. They long for those tiny moments where they get to improv witty banter. I once knew a bored news anchor who made up a drinking game for his friends watching at home: each time he would say certain words (some as common as “community,” “story,” etc.), they’d have to drink – and knowing he was responsible for getting his friends drunk made his job much more fun.

So I have to wonder if something like that was going on with Ernie Anastos, a news anchor from Fox 5 who told his bewildered weatherman Nick Gregory to “keep f—ing that chicken” on the 10 o’clock news. One of my favorite parts of this video is actually the deer-in-the-headlights expression sported by his co-anchor, Dari Alexander. Ernie also interrupted her and made her flustered when she spoke about an upcoming exercise segment. “Is that you?” he asked. “Looking good!”

Ernie did come back on the air later on the broadcast, apologizing for his “inappropriate use of language.” It ’s like Kanye all over again. Only I think Kanye might have actually been more remorseful…
