From the recent pictures on the New York City set of the Sex and the City sequel, it’s clear the movie involves some very wild eighties flashbacks . So, in honor of the years of great fashion the show brought us, I’m going to take my own trip down memory lane with some of my favorite looks from the show and first movie.
One of my all-time favorite Carrie outfits appeared in the Season 5 episode, “Anchors Away.” Spending a day alone in NYC, Carrie visited the Guggenheim in a pink sweater over a rainbow striped dress, topped with a vintage red Chanel jacket. It was so colorful and fun and playful, I shriek with delight every time I see that episode.
And then there is Carrie’s entire Season 6 wardrobe. I know, it’s not fair to pick an entire season’s worth of clothes, but there were just too many fabulous dresses and coats and shoes to narrow it down to just one or two outfits. In particular, her Paris wardrobe in the series finale is unforgettable. Simply gorgeous and spectacular.

In Season 6, Charlotte suffers a miscarriage. It was probably one of the most heartbreaking episodes of the series. But she reemerges strong and stunning in a form-fitting pink dress with black belt. It was a very Jackie O look, complete with big sunglasses.
Unfortunately, I don’t have many fond memories of Miranda’s or Samantha’s wardrobes. Although, I must say, their styles definitely improved from the series to the first movie. Oh the times we had with our four favorite single gals in the City. The Manolos. The Cosmos. The men. The FASHION! What fashions from Sex and the City do you love? Or hate? Let’s reminisce.

The shorts Carrie was wearing when she took a walk on the beach with the doctor who was “good on paper”. They were white with tropical leaves on them. Who made those?
Don’t mean to be a hater, but I was never a big fan of Carrie’s style. A little too conventional maybe? I’m not sure. Just never did it for me.
