Zooey Deschanel and Ben Gibbard Tie the Knot

It’s so adorably indie rock, it kind of makes me want to puke. According to E Online, Zooey Deschanel and Ben Gibbard (lead singer of Death Cab for Cutie) got married on Saturday near Seattle. Zooey, 29, and Ben, 33, dated for almost a year before he proposed last December.

Zooey was last seen in the quirky romance 500 Days of Summer with Joseph Gordon-Levitt, while Ben’s band has been tirelessly touring in support of their last album Narrow Stairs. They’ve also just released a single called “Meet Me On the Equinox,” which was written exclusively for the Twilight: New Moon soundtrack.

Zooey is also a musical chick, having started up the duo She & Him with M. Ward last year. And Ben is taking a chance at Zooey’s profession too; he’ll make his acting debut in the movie Brief Interviews With Hideous Men, which was written and directed by his friend John Krasinski.

The couple has kept their romantic life pretty low-key. While Zooey was previously known to date Jason Schwartzman, this is both Ben’s and her first time getting hitched. I wonder about the reception meal – after Zooey’s appearance as a guest judge on Top Chef last season, we know that she’s completely vegan and doesn’t eat gluten or soy (I know, gross).
