Rodarte and Target Make Fashion Dreams Come True

Did anyone else scream with delight when they heard that Rodarte is designing a line for Target? I’m giddy, truly giddy over the news!

I’ve always been a sucker for the designer mash-ups that Target comes out with, but this one in particular is blowing my mind. Rodarte, designed by Pasadena-bred sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy, is one of the most distinctive lines to come out in decades. At least, in my opinion. I can instantly pick out the Rodarte dress on a crowded red carpet. And, it’s usually being worn by some of my favorite fashionable actresses, like Natalie Portman, Reese Witherspoon, Kiera Knightley and Kirsten Dunst.

But, unlike those lucky ladies, we aren’t given the dresses for free nor do we have five grand to drop on ONE dress. And, thus, Target has answered my prayers (and the prayers of fashion-obsessed gals everywhere), with this new collaboration. The line is said to include all manner of bows and sequins…two things I love the most! It’s as if someone is reading my mind.

Skeptics be damned, if anyone can translate the expensive whimsy and detail of a designer line into mass-produced apperal, the sisters Mulleavy can. I am confident that, despite the lower prices and cheaper materials, nothing will get lost in translation.
