For the most part, I love all the fall trends. Bright pink, masculine blazers, leather, sequins…love, love, love. But then there are the trends I just can’t stand. And they all fall both below the waist and well below expectations.
Let’s start with the thigh-high boots that are popping up everywhere. Sure, they sexed-up the catwalks of Yigal Azrouël, Ohne Titel and, my personal favorite, Rodarte. But there is no practical application for these boots in real life. Unless, of course, you’re a hooker. Every time I see a pair of these boots, I’m instantly reminded of the boots Julia Roberts wore in Pretty Woman, pre-makeover.
And if it’s not the boots, then there are the leggings. Like the ones that look like someone took an entire bottle of bleach and poured it all over a perfectly good pair of black pants. Narcisco Rodriguez showed a pair of black and white leather pants that rode the fence between dairy cow and laundry accident. Not a good look and almost as bad as the bleached jeans celebrities like Nicole Richie and Gwen Stefani have been sporting.
And don’t even get me started on the slashed leggings, the kind Lady Gaga’s been strutting around in and an offshoot of which are currently being peddled by American Apparel.
You know what all these things have in common besides the fact that I hate them?
Hookers love them!

yes, yes, and YES. all bad, bad trends. cow print leggings and slashed tights are by far the worst fall fashion offenders
