A slimmed-down Rush Limbuagh appeared on The Jay Leno Show last night to discuss his 82-pound weight loss, politics and more.

“I would attribute my weight gain to no discipline and loving every minute of it,” the conservative radio host said with a smirk. He also spoke about the ridiculousness and disparity of media covering celebrity weight loss. “I saw a spread on you in People magazine,” he told Jay. “Twelve pounds you lost. Big whoop!”  (Jay was good-hearted and just laughed the slight jab.) Rush continued: “I lose 82 pounds and ABC gets their medical director on Good Morning America.” His imitation of the guy: “You can’t do it that way, it’s too fast, you didn’t do exercise, he’s gonna put it back on, it’s not healthy, he’s gonna die.”

The conversation quickly turned to politics when Jay asked if Rush considers himself a polarizing figure. “I’m not controversial at all,” he joked. “Obama is polarizing, Jay,” he said, more seriously. “Now remember the campaign. We were gonna have a utopia, post-partisanship. There weren’t gonna be any more red-state blue-states. Post-racist. Look how divided this country is right now. His approval rating numbers are plummeting; people who voted for him did not think this is what they were gonna get.”
