Jane Iredale Cosmetics was one of the front runners in the mineral makeup trend yet is just recently becoming available in the general retail market. When the company first started, they were available only through high-end spas and skin care specialists. Now with mineral makeup becoming all the rage, Jane Iredale is now popping up in more boutiques and apothecaries nationwide. If mineral makeup is your thing, Jane Iredale is definitely worth trying.

What makes Jane Iredale so unique is that they have come up with a formula that allows you to have an all natural mineral based liquid concealer. One of the main problems I have with other mineral make up companies is that everything comes in powder form which can be dry looking around the eyes and actually enhances any fine lines or large pores. Their color selections are limited and usually involves mixing multiple shades to match your skin. Who wants to do that every day? Jane Iredale Active Light Concealer makes concealing around the eyes easy and since it is mineral based safe for sensitive skin and eyes.

Active Light Concealer comes in six different shades and is contained in an twist pump dispenser for easy portability. A twist pump dispenser is one of those slim pen like containers that has the concealer inside with a brush attached to the end.

Simply twist the bottom of the wand and the product comes up into the brush so it stays bacteria free. The concealer itself is a lightweight sheer finish that helps reflect the light away from any discoloration around the eye leaving it looking smooth and luminous. This is for light concealing only, if you have heavy discoloration around the eyes you may want to try this. Active Light is also perfect for more mature or dehydrated skin as well as it gently blends with out causing that crepe paper look so many concealers can give. I’ve used these concealers on numerous clients and they all love the results.

To Apply: Twist the bottom of the tube until a small amount appears on the end of the brush and apply under the eye, the inner corners of the eye and lid. You can also use it around the nose and mouth for light concealing. Use either the attached brush or your fingers to blend into the skin.

Jane Iredale is really the most complete mineral makeup line I have ever encountered. Not only do they offer the standard loose powder mineral foundation but they also have all the same shades in a liquid and pressed powder formulas well. Yep, you read right, mineral make up in a compact. Wow. The pressed powder is wonderful. No more messy powder spills that some how contaminate everything you own. Portability is very important to the people at Jane Iredale. So if you love mineral make up and will use nothing else you will love Jane Iredale. You can order direct from the website or find a boutique or spa that carries it near you with the store locator.
