Review: The CW’s “Vampire Diaries”

OMG. I. Seriously. Love. This. Show. “Vampire Diaries,” that is. It’s a romantic, coming-of-age throwback to the WB dramas of the late 90s, combining sweetness and sarcasm. “Vampire Diaries” is a little “Dawson’s” (but not as earnest), and a little “Buffy” (but not as mythological).

Oprah’s Kick-Off Party with 21,00 Fans and the Black-Eyed Peas!

Oprah Winfrey will be kicking off her 24th season of her famed talk show on September 14th and here’s video of 21,000 of her fans dancing to Black Eyed Peas, “I Gotta Feeling,” at the show’s Premiere party.

If your employer catches your latest status update or tweet, it could cost you your job. Assuming that your complaints about your job will not fall on unintended eyes is not safe given the growing accessibility of the net to all levels of society. While individuals are now able to cross-promote, job search and network via Twitter and Facebook, seemingly innocent pissing and moaning can rub higher ups the wrong way.

Maura Tierney Drops out of “Parenthood”

Maura Tierney has dropped out of NBC’s upcoming show Parenthood because it will conflict with her treatments for breast cancer. The beloved actress from ER and NewsRadio was set to star alongside Peter Krause and Craig T. Nelson in the TV remake of the 1989 movie of the same name, and it was originally going to be released this fall.

Caster Semenya Gender Test Results to be Released in November

The International Association of Athletics Federation is reviewing results of gender tests on South African runner Caster Semenya and will not issue its final decision until November. The IAAF would not confirm or deny Australian newspaper reports that Caster has male and female sexual organs.

Today Orange County Assemblyman Michael Duvall resigned from his position, not because he had an affair, but only because of his “inappropriate storytelling” and “choice of words”. In July during a pause in a Sacramento hearing, Duvall was caught on videotape proudly discussing two sexual conquests in great detail, neither of whom was his wife.

Daniel Henney Brings His Hotness from Asia to CBS’s “Three Rivers”

Daniel Henney. You don’t know him, do you? Well, soon you will.

Originally from Carson City, Michigan, Henney flew to South Korea to find out more about his mother’s birth country, as he is of both British-American and Korean heritage. Soon after, Henney was discovered by local modeling scouts and was asked to star in a Korean TV drama entitled, “My Name is Kim Sam Soon.” This TV series was immensely successful throughout Asia, and he’s been everywhere from TV dramas to modeling ads with Gwyneth Paltrow. (Beanpole, anyone?)
