It’s clear that when Drew Barrymore directs a movie, she goes all out. For her new movie Whip It, Drew has gone on a cross-country roller derby promotional tour complete with packed appearances at skating rinks, singing at a Chicago Cubs game surrounded by the ladies of a local roller derby league and some of the craziest looks we’ve seen Drew wear in a long time.

Former political staffer Stacy Parker Aab is no Monica Lewinsky, but she claims in her new book “Government Girl: Young and Female in the White House” that Bill Clinton hugged her and lingered a little too long. A Hug? Really? A hug gets you a book deal these days?

Last week, Universal announced that they’re turning everyone’s favorite plastic blonde into a movie star. Barbie, that is. The 50 year-old superstar (and biggest toy in the world) will finally make it onto the silver screen in her first live-action film. Who will play her? And is the movie a good thing or bad thing for young girls?

Over the weekend, film director Roman Polanski was arrested in Switzerland in connection with a rape case from 1977, and now he may be extradited to the United States. However, Samantha Geimer, the victim who identified herself long ago (and was 13 years old at the time of the rape), has asked that the case against Polanski be dropped.

Today’s a big day for America’s biggest coffee empire, and not just because it’s National Coffee Day. Starbucks will begin selling instant coffee across the U.S. and Canada, and they’ll back the effort with their first-ever television ads. The new drink, Via, will only cost $1 per cup.

“American Idol” season one runner-up Justin Guarini married Reina Capodici yesterday in a romantic ceremony in Pennsylvania. The two have known each other since high school. They personalized the wedding by writing their own vows and including music from artists like Radiohead and Peter Gabriel instead of a traditional Wedding March.
