Here in LA, it’s 100 degrees and the heats not letting up anytime soon. And that can mean only one thing: the Fall TV season is just around the corner. With summer winding to its explosive close, what shows am I most jazzed to see come back on the air?

It’s been far too long since Whitney Houston has been the glamorous star she once was. I blame Bobby Brown. As a non-medical professional, I usually get to enjoy the show in pleasantly ignorant bliss. But I think my bubble may have just been burst.

Model-of-the-moment Lara Stone has her fans in a huff. Apparently, she thinks shes fat. And she’s tired of it. So, she’s on a mission to slim down and fit in with her bony counterparts in the modeling industry. But, why? Why, Lara? Why?

Fall TV Review: ABC’s “Modern Family”

The funniest new comedy this year is definitely ABC’s “Modern Family,” which premiered last night on ABC. It follows three different families: Phil and Claire are the “traditional” mom and dad, with two daughters and a son; Cameron and Mitchell are a gay couple that has just adopted a baby girl from Vietnam; and hot Colombian mom Gloria has married the much-older Jay.

Millburn High, the top-ranked school in New Jersey, is under fire for its senior girls’ annual hazing rituals. The juiciest of them is the “Slut List,” which ranks and crassly describes a dozen or more of the incoming freshman girls. This year, “hundreds” of copies were passed out to the student body.

It could be a huge victory in the fight against HIV and AIDS: The New York Times reports that an AIDS vaccine tested on more than 16,000 volunteers in Thailand has protected a significant minority against infection. It’s the first time that any vaccine against the disease has even partly succeeded in a clinical trial.

Pregnant Woman Gets Pregnant Again

Today we all learn a new word: superfetation. It’s a rare condition in which a woman who is pregnant gets pregnant AGAIN. Not twins, but a completely different fetus conceived at a different time. Julia Grovenburg of Arkansas is experiencing one of only about ten reported cases of this condition; next to Julia’s and her husband Todd’s growing baby girl, doctors discovered a smaller, male fetus that was conceived about two and a half weeks later.

Man, it’s like baby season! Yesterday we heard about Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr, and now there’s a little Jude Law on the planet too. Actress-model Samantha Burke gave birth to a baby girl named Sophia on Tuesday night, just two months after Jude Law confirmed that he is indeed the kid’s father.

Another mind-clearing day at the data farm. Ahhh. Some people hate their jobs, but I find my job the only aspect of my life I have any control over. It’s stifling. The walls are beige, the carpet is gray, but the responsibilities are easily dealt with. There’s something nice about finding a semi-dead-end job that doesn’t make you tear your hair out at night. you don’t leave frazzled, you don’t taket he work home with you. In some strange ways, work is a paradise for me.

Grace Coddington is the Star of “The September Issue”

I finally had a chance to watch “The September Issue,” and for all of you latecomers who haven’t had a chance to see the film, I highly recommend it! P.S. It’s not a real-life version of “Devil Wears Prada,” though I was hoping we’d get to meet the new “Emily.”

Product Review: Ole Henricksen Fresh Start Eye Cream

It took me a long time to accept that there was a difference between eye cream and regular facial moisturizers. Even longer to accept that you do indeed need to use both for younger looking skin. For a long time I felt that your daily moisturizer was fine for around the eyes and that skin care lines were just using eye creams as a way to get you to buy an extra product. Alas, I was wrong and I have since come to learn through trial, error, education and my own first signs of aging that there is a difference between an eye cream and a moisturizer and I am now a very big advocate for eye creams.
