He’s 45, she’s 23. That’s a Hollywood story we’ve heard before. But I kind of like this one: According to People magazine, Phantom of the Opera star Emmy Rossum is dating much-older Counting Crows lead singer Adam Duritz. As a huge Counting Crows fan, I can understand why someone would be attracted to his goofy dreadlocks: he’s an amazingly talented songwriter and musician.
It appears he’s attracted to musical talent, too. Emmy began studying opera at a young age, and has sung on tour with Adam. “She can sing her ass off. But she toured with us onstage, so I knew how she could sing,” he said. “I sing with her all the time. I actually think she sings better onstage with us … I like to make music with her.”
The two were spotted at the American Ballet Theater Fall gala at Lincoln Center in New York last night. ”I like to dress up,” tuxedo-clad Adam said. ”I like bow ties.”
Emmy was similarly classy in her Marchesa gown, and said the night was “Very fun.” The couple held hands on their way to dinner after the performance.
There’s a tinge of scandal to the romance; Emmy is still married to Justin Siegel, who recently filed for divorce. Whoa, wait a second. She’s 23 and already getting divorced? Yowza. I’m sure Adam is used to Hollywood drama, though, since he’s previously dated Courtney Cox Arquette, Jennifer Aniston and Mary Louise Parker.
I told you. Amazing songwriting = hot.
