I’ve had a lot of “health cookies” in my day, always trying to find something that will satisfy my sweet craving without adding too many sugars and processed carbohydrates.  Yeah, I know- a fruitless endeavor, but I still try.

Then Goji Gourmet came and introduced me to their Goji Gourmet cookies.  I’ll never go back.  I recently wrote review of the [me] & goji cereal, which is a fantastic way to get healthy, delicious cereal mixed just how you like it.  This of these cookies as the same, except for dessert, and the only decision you have to make is when to stop eating the delicious little guys.

These are real cookies, not the “we will market these as cookies but actually they will taste more like stale bread” type health cookies.  You don’t have to settle for a good tasting health cookie, these are delicious cookies that just happen to be healthy, packed with superfoods (walnuts, ginger, almonds, oats, cocoa, etc.) antioxidants, and organic goji berries.

They come in 4 fantastic flavors, but even more fantastic are their ingredient lists.  Generally with the cookies the first five ingredients are a combination of refined flour and sugars.  Check these out:

Goji Orange MintChip- Organic white whole wheat flour, organic goji berries, natural buckwheat honey, organic butter, raw turbinado sugar

Goji Almond Oat- Organic white whole wheat flour, organic goji berries, organic oats, natural buckwheat honey, natural almonds

Goji Ginger Walnut- Organic white whole wheat flour, organic goji berries, organic crystallized ginger, natural buckwheat honey, natural walnuts

Goji Cherry Cocoa- Organic white whole wheat flour, organic goji berries, natural buckwheat honey, organic cacao powder, dried cherries

There are 8 cookies per bag, with 100 calories per 4 cookies. They are low calorie, low carb, and delicious.  They are also low sugar, as Goji Gourmet prefers to use buckwheat honey instead of refined sugar. Perhaps most surprising is these little guys are preservative-free, so they are just like fresh baked, with the taste and texture to match.

What’s a Goji berry you ask?  Gojis are form the Himalayan Mountains that have an impressive nutritional profile.  The sweet berries have 10x the amount of antioxidants of blueberries, more beta carotene than carrots, and more iron than spinach.  That’s one powerful berry.

Get your glass of milk ready and enjoy these tasty cookies, guilt-free.  You can order them from the website at www.gojigourmet.com
