Fall is here, even if it doesn’t feel like it here in Los Angeles, and that means it’s time to say goodbye to the peaches and pinks of summer and say hello to the beautiful, dark and sultry colors that are flooding the cosmetics world this season.
Keep It Natural- First off, natural eyebrows are big this season so put down the tweezers. No need to keep your eyebrows super thin.
Dark Makeup- Makeup colors this season are dark, dark, dark so make sure that you keep it balanced and don’t combine a really dark eye with a dark lip. Choose one or the other.
Smokey Eyes Are Back- Eyes this fall are focusing on the darker the better. Rich, smokey shades in all varieties of browns, greens and especially purples are everywhere and are a great alternative to the basic black smokey eye. Gold, Bronze and Metallic shadows are a good choice for a dramatic, yet feminine, eye and look wonderful with the darker shades.
Match Your Makeup Shades- If your going to do a dramatic eye then make sure you keep you lip neutral with a light gloss or stain.
Sultry Lip Shades- Lips are dramatic and range from the brightest reds to the darkest berry. Purple is the hottest color this season and I am starting to see a lot more purple toned lipsticks on the shelves. If you are going to do a dark lip then make sure you keep your eyes light and your brows well groomed for a polished look.
This season is all about balance so remember, with all these dark choices don’t over do it. Happy Fall!
