Stila Cosmetics bestselling eyeshadow, Kitten, has been reborn. Voted 2008 ALLURE Magazine Editor’s Choice Award for Best Beige Eye Shadow the Kitten shade is now available in a cream formula for maximum staying power. I wouldn’t really call Kitten beige as it’s really more of a sheer pink that packs a lot of punch in the shimmer department. But it is a universally flattering pink that works on all skin tones with shimmer that is noticeable yet subtle at the same time.
The Silk Eye Shadow Wash is the cream version of the powder shadow. This is a great shade to be either worn alone for a fresh, clean look or as a base for the rest of your shadows. You could also use it as a cheek highlighter and on the temples as well. It comes in a pretty tube with a felt tip applicator for smooth application, but I would only use the applicator to actually get the product on the eye and use your finger to blend. It just seems to work better that way and will prevent you from using to much.
To Apply: There are a variety of different things you could do with this shadow. The most basic way to use it is as an base for your other shadows by simply applying a little to the eye and using your finger to blend it from your lash line to your brow bone and wait a few seconds for it to dry before you fully open your eye. A light application will give you a sheer wash of color and shimmer that will last all day long without creasing. Oily lidded gals may have a little creasing by the end of the day but not nearly as much as with powder eyeshadow. The color is buildable so if you want a lot of shine you can layer it but you must wait for it to dry completely between layers. I also like to dab a small amount into the inner corners of of the eyes to really give you that I’ve-had-my-morning-coffee look and make them pop. As a cheek highlighter, apply a little to the cheek bone and blend outward toward the temples with your fingers.
I really enjoyed the staying power of this cream. It lasts all day and looks great by itself with a little black eye liner and lots of mascara. With so many versatile uses I’m sure you can find some reason for why you have to try it.
