Kirk Cameron Doesn’t Think You Descended From Apes
Back when I was a teenybopper, Kirk Cameron was all that AND a Tiger Beat centerfold. Weekly I would watch him as sexy Mike Seaver on Growing Pains and wish for a Mike Seaver of my very own.
Unfortunately it seems things weren’t as ideal in the Seaver family as we viewers were led to believe. It seems that mid-show, at the age of 17, he found Jesus, became an evangelical Christian, and promptly dropped off the radar. Whether his decline from the public eye was because his new faith led him to want to devote himself to a “higher calling” or because he became a royal pain in the ass to work with (insisting anything ‘too racy’ be stripped from his already uber-G-rated Growing Pains episodes, for example) I don’t know.
What I do know is that all these years later he’s back, befouling the air waves again. In the intervening years, Cameron has been busy making crappy apocalypse-themed movies and partnering up with Ray Comfort of the Living Waters, a lovely organization that does such helpful things as oppress homosexuals and other spiritual pursuits. And now, in anticipation of Darwin Day next month (the 50th anniversary of the publication of Charles Darwin’s Origin of Species), he and old Ray are on a crusade to distribute altered copies of the text.
Actually, they claim that Darwin’s text will be un-mucked-with, but they will be including a marvelous 50-page introduction that they hope will refute the theory of evolution, including such illuminating points as how Hitler was linked to it, how Darwin was a a misogynist racist, and obviously how in general creationism is where it’s at.
Oh Kirk, I defend your right to do stupid crap like this, but all I can say is I liked you better when no one had heard about you for a decade.

he also released a PSA saying that colleges are brainwashing our kids because they are run by atheist professors. UM- dont you have the right to choose which college you go to? AND what classes you take? You can take religious classes if you want to, but if I am taking a psychology course, I dont want to be preached to about Christianity.
Yes, if you want a little taste of more Of Kirk’s propaganda work check out his movie Left Behind http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Left_Behind:_The_Movie that’s some creepy jesus lovin’ stuff right there
wow, way to alienate anyone that believes anything remotely Christian. left behind is propaganda??? it’s just acting out what the Bible says will happen in Revelations. how is that propaganda? whether you think it’s cheesy or don’t agree, how can you construe it as propaganda?? oh and way to site wikipedia. you can be sure to count on the entries of wikipedia. they’re not biased & are 100% fact.
also, just because you have the right to take any class you choose doesn’t give professors the right to teach anything they want (their opinions) and try to have students reach their conclusion. that IS brainwashing, no matter what angle you’re teaching from. and anyone that doesn’t believe colleges and universities are slanted is oblivious.
needless to say, you lost at least 1 reader today. it really sounds like you defend and respect his right to say and do ‘this stupid crap’. no thanks for your hate & propaganda
damn, sarah, I was going to agree with you until your comment about the PSA- no one said anything about professors teaching anything they want. You obviously didnt watch it so dont make assumptions. He said the simple fact that most university teachers are atheists shows that colleges are brainwashing the students- not that they arent teaching factual information. Thats it. More atheists than not equals brainwashing. Watch the video before attacking. If you want to go to a Christian college, go to a Christian college- of course everything is slanted, so go with the slant that makes you happy. You just lost someone in your corner.
Also, Heather, Mike Seaver….sexy!? No way- I’d take Alex Keeton and Zack Morris over him anyday
Sarah, “Left Behind” is Christian propaganda and Kirk Cameron is one of the stupidest people in America. Watch the youtube clip of him with the “Banana Guy” explaining how an invisible man in the sky “created” the banana to be just like a soda can. Apparently, Mr. Cameron and his sidekick are completely oblivious to horticulture. Also watch the clip of him on the Bill O’Reilly show single handedly demolishing Darwin’s elegant theory with his painting of a mythical crocaduck. All I can say is pathetic. Hey Kirk open your eyes—all religions are money making scams at the core, and Jesus was a leftist radical liberal hippie. How does that make you feel???
As a parent, I’m in favor of having Cutting-Edge Science taught in schools:
a few examples include:
- Matter from explosions does not condense to form objects like galaxies.
. . .
- The specific complexity of genetic information in the genome does not increase spontaneously. Therefore, there is no natural process whereby reptiles can turn into birds, land mammals into whales, or chimpanzees into human beings.
. . .
- Many worldwide natural processes indicate an age for the earth of 10,000 years or less. These include population kinetics, influx of radiocarbon into earth’s atmosphere, absence of meteorites from the geologic column, and decay of earth’s magnetic field.
. . .
- There is no gradualism in the fossil record, no intermediate types.

Although evolutionists assert that life originated when lightning hit some soup, the Law of Biogenesis tells us:
Life does not come from non-life.
The most plausible explanation for the origin of life on earth is the Biblical statement:
“In the beginning God created” (Genesis 1:1)
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Genesis1-11&version=NIV
i hardly think “god created everything” is more plausible than the big bang. I’m sorry, but i dont think just having faith that it happened that way because a book said so is any better of an argument than a scientific explanation. and the sites you linked to are all religious sites that use the Bible as fact. That’s my issue with the Bible- I cant just accept it as truth because someone tells me to. I like to be presented with many different ideas, and choose which one makes the most sense to me. You can’t do that when you just take everything the Bible says to be the absolute truth.
I didnt accept “because I said so” from my parents when I was little and I can’t accept it now as an adult
