I’m in full support of wives standing up to their husbands…but Maria Shriver’s refusal to follow hubby Arnold Schwarzenegger’s no-using-cell-phones-while-driving rule, which has been PASSED AS A LAW IN CALIFORNIA FOR OVER A YEAR, is just dumb.
According to CNN, celeb gossip site TMZ has caught Maria talking on her cell phone while driving THREE different times. Okay, we’ve all done it – but first off, I think she can afford a Bluetooth, or at least a wired headset. And second, you’d think that you might be a little more careful after getting negative press for breaking a law that your husband passed, right?
Enforcement of the cell phone ban began July 1, 2008. It carries a $20 fine for a first violation and $50 for each subsequent offense. A similar law banning texting while driving took effect January 1 this year.
So far, Maria hasn’t been cited. Come on, coppers. Get the girl to pay up. We’re in a budget crisis here and we need her $120.
Apparently, Arnold himself sent a note to TMZ, saying “Thanks for bringing her violations to my attention. There’s going to be swift action.”
I can only imagine what that “swift action” is going to be. Fine? Stern talking to? Spanking? Come on, you were thinking it too!

I really do wonder what Arnold's "swift action" will entail... poor Maria! Just take her money and leave her husband out of it.
