Sometimes you just want a little coverage right? Tinted Moisturizers work well for the sheerest of coverage but what should you do if you want a little more coverage than a tinted moisturizer but not as much as a full foundation. The answer is Prescriptives Traceless Skin Responsive Tint. It delivers the perfect balance of coverage and moisture that adjusts to match a variety of skin tones and leaves your skin looking almost airbrushed.
I used to worked for Prescriptives and this was the most popular of all of the foundations they carry and the one that caused me to have the most repeat customers. It comes in five different shades and since it self adjusts when applied matches most skin tones. They are labeled by number so #1 is the lightest shade with a more pink undertone while #2 and #3 are the most popular for medium skins with yellow undertones. The two darkest shades #4 and #5 are a unique as #4 had a yellow undertone and #5 has more of a red-orange undertone which is really nice since so many cosmetic companies don’t realize that dark skin tones can have a lot of red in their skin. The result is nice and even without that ashy look that tinted moisturizers can leave on dark skin tones. Every shade also has SPF 8 so it gives you a little sun protection as well.
To Apply: This tint works best with a foundation brush or just your fingers. I would not use a sponge because the product is very sheer and a sponge will just absorb it up and you will end up using way more than you need. Just squeeze a small amount out onto the back of your hand to warm it up and use either a foundation brush to blend or clean dry fingers. Set with a light powder if desired. If you are unsure on how to apply foundation with a brush I did a how to video. I’m using a different foundation in the video, but the application is the same.
The most important thing about “Traceless” is that you have to wait for it to dry before you really see the coverage. It’s a little magical how it works because when you first put it on you might think that it isn’t really doing anything. Just wait 60 seconds. It adjusts to your skin and to any light source so it works well not only in dim light but the blazing sun as well.
“Traceless” works well in so many situations that I could go on forever. Running errands and don’t want to bother with a full face? Slap on some “Traceless.” It evens out the skin yet still let’s your own features show through so you won’t feel like you are wearing a blank mask with no color. It is perfect for teens who don’t really need the coverage but insist on wearing foundation anyway. I always put some on before I hit the beach so my skin looks even, make up free and perfect even though it is all a clever lie. Yes, I wear make up at the beach. I think it’s against the law in Los Angeles to ever be seen without your make up and I am a law abiding citizen.
