Currently a 6-year-old boy has the attention of all the news media, all the Internet, and has even brought down Twitter (oh no!). Oh, and there are even fake accounts in his name. The boy was thought to have been inside the runaway balloon, but when the balloon landed on solid ground, he was nowhere to be found.
KUSA-TV reported that the boy’s family had been building an experimental aircraft that had a large helium balloon attached to it at their home. The balloon resembled a flying saucer and was approximately 20 feet by 5 feet. According to the Denver Post, his father, Richard Heene, is an amateur scientist who is part of a Fort Collins based weather research team called the “Science Detectives.”
As the world holds its breath, all of us just want to know if this young boy is safe. In the meantime, check out the video below for ongoing coverage.

UPDATE: You probably know by now, but Falcon Heene is doing just fine and was actually hiding out in his house because he was scared to get in trouble from his father. Was it a hoax?

oh balloon boy, what have you done? you launched your dad's air balloon, and then you had to run. if i had done so, i'd need a hiding place and quick. but where? perhaps in the attic?
