Does The Cookie Diet Work?
Just one cookie. Just one morsel of sugary goodness, then you’ll get back to your diet. Then suddenly you’ve eaten an entire box, or sheet, or package of break-and-bake squares of dough that didn’t even make it to the oven, right? Girl, I hear you. That’s why it doesn’t really surprise me that The Cookie Diet is gaining popularity. It sounds way more fun than the cabbage soup diet, right?
According to ABC News, Josie Raper went from a size 24 to a 6 in just six months on Dr. Siegal’s Cookie Diet, which involves eating six specially developed diet cookies with water throughout the day, whenever you feel hungry, in addition to a 500-calorie dinner of lean protein and vegetables.
Here’s the problem: The Cookie Diet is just like any other diet. What happens if you go to a restaurant? Or a friend’s house? You’re expected to bring along these “cookies” for the rest of your life? It might be a way to shed pounds quickly (most fad diets do work if you’re strict about them), but I doubt its practicality as a long-term program.
Come on, we all know the secret to losing weight: consuming fewer calories than you burn. It’s not that we don’t have enough information about nutrition and exercise. It’s that real cookies are delicious, and exercise really sucks sometimes. We know exactly what we need to do, it’s DOING it that’s the problem.

I have to agree with you. I think it is more important to learn how to eat healthy and exercise. My daughter saw this on the news today and said, “Look Mom, she ate cookies to lose weight.” We sat down and had a good talk about body image and how important it is to eat healthy and exercise.
If only the cookie diet cookies looked as tasty as the pic above
erg, these diets make me mad. Of course if you consume nothing but low calorie anything you are going to lose weight- but if people actually educated themselves, they could eat way MORE food, by eating a healthy, well balanced diet and get better results. Then, every once in a while, you can have a real cookie that doesnt taste like cardboard guilt free. It amazes me that people will stick to diets like this, but not try and be strict with eating a well balanced diet. thanks for the last paragraph of this article, common sense goes a long way
