Kelly Ripa and Husband Return to “All My Children”

kelly-ripa-mark-consuelos-1Kelly Ripa and her hunky husband Mark Consuelos need a little more drama in their lives, so they went right to the source: soap opera All My Children. According to the Associated Press, the tiny blond Live with Regis and Kelly host and her hubby will return to the ABC soap for its 40th anniversary, which is January 5, 2010.

Kelly and Mark’s episodes will air Monday, Jan 4th and Tuesday, Jan. 5th. It will be the first time either actor has appeared on All My Children since they left the show in 2002. The couple is also a couple on the show: Kelly plays Hayley Vaughn Santos, alongside Mark’s Mateo Santos, Sr.

Kelly joined All My Children in 1990 as Trevor Dillon’s rebellious, punk-rock niece Hayley. She soon found out Adam Chandler was her dad and became one of the show’s most popular characters. When Mark joined the cast in 1995, Hayley and Mateo fell in love — and so did Mark and Kelly.

The fictional couple has one son, Lorenzo. Their characters left the fictional Pine Valley when Hayley’s talk show, Wave, became syndicated and she had to relocate to California to keep her job.

Kelly says Live With Regis and Kelly will air behind-the-scenes footage next month of the couple’s return to the show.
