Everyone’s favorite Real Housewife of New York is actually going to be, well, a wife. According to People magazine, Bethenny Frankel’s boyfriend Jason Hoppy proposed after they had been dating for 11 months.
“It feels great, because I’m with the right person,” says Bethenny, who looks damn good for 38. “He may be regretting it because it’s been beyond a week and he’s in panic mode – [but] no, we’re enjoying it.”
Jason, who is also 38, said, “She is very much a handful but one thing she did say to me is she needs a man that can handle her, and that I can.” At least he knows what he’s getting into! He managed to surprise the lady who always knows what’s up by decorating her Upper East Side apartment with over a hundred votive candles and rose petals strewn across the hallway.
He dressed up Bethenny’s pooch Cookie in a pink bow to be his witness as he got down on one knee and told her: “You are the love of my life. Will you marry me?” Of course she said yes – she was blinded by the giant 6 ½-carat pear-shaped center stone ROCK he was holding. Before going out to dinner to celebrate, Bethenny made him clean up all the rose petals. “I made him pick them up,” she joked. “This was the first thing we had to resolve.” I can’t wait to hear about the big affair when they set a date. Since she’s known for her Skinny Girl Margaritas, I wonder if there will be Skinny Girl wedding cake?
