The job market is tough – even for famous people like Sarah Palin. According to CNN, the former Vice Presidential candidate who can see Russia from her house recently posted her resume on LinkedIn, which likes to think of itself as “Facebook for Professionals.”
I’ve always been a little weirded out by LinkedIn. Sure, I joined and added some people from college and former jobs. But then I promptly forgot about it, and only remember I’m on there when I get emails from people who have added me. With over 50 million users, it’s one of those sites that is highly visited by unemployed job seekers. But once you have a job, you never use it (which is why it’s so unhelpful for those job seekers). I haven’t heard of anyone who has gotten a job or made any useful professional connection from this site. Have you guys?
Sarah Palin’s resume includes her position as “Vice Presidential Candidate” for the 2008 election and goes back to 1992 where she was the Council Member for the Wasilla City Council. She also says in her profile that she is interested in “Job inquiries, expertise requests, business deals, reference requests, and getting back in touch.” So if you need advice on how to run for an office you’re not at all qualified for, maybe you can get her expertise!

I know just like obama with expertise! Heee is doing so well! Ha!
next thing you know she will be on a pole stripping.

so if Sarah Palin’s Facebook brought us “death panels” what can we assume for LinkedIn? Socialism? Or what about Myspace? Immigration perhaps?
so excited for all this new expertise about to come our way!
Okay for one thing Linkedin is not a job site and it misn’t Sarah resume its just a profile. If the idiot who wrote did some reasearch he would find that our beloved(lol) Prez is on Linkedin too. So people need to get their stuff straight before lying.
I have to disagree with Gary, Linkedin is used for job hunting and the profile allows you to be open to job offers.
I am a recruiter and I use it every day, it is indeed a great tool.
I just sent her an invite!, now if I can just have Sarah Palin visit my website http://www.jobalized.com and upload her resume would be heavenly.
Linkedin is without question a job and business development/networking site. It is not a social chat site.
Gary may not use it for this but the majority of Linkedin user do.
This just in Sarah Palin is still under qualified.
