Have something in your life you want to change but don’t know where to start? Or maybe you have started but nothing seems to be happening and you feel frustrated and ready to give up. Whether it’s a job change, family or relationship issue, or something to do with your finances, making a big change is one of the most difficult things to do. BUT, once you do it successfully not only will your quality of life be improved (providing you made a good change!) but you’ll feel so much more confident about having control over your own life.

Here’s a five step process for changing anything, (corny acronym and all):

D: Decide what you want to change. Creating change is an intentional, conscious act and you have to really want it.

R: Do your Research. Analyze all the angles and think of as many pros and cons as you can. Plan and prepare!

E: Evaluate what’s the most important and what’s the most realistic. Maybe you can’t quit your day job and go back to school full-time, but you can take part-time evening courses.

A: Act. Just do it. Start making it happen and stick with it for the full course of your plan.

M: Maintain and keep your dreams current. You might work hard and make a change happen but that doesn’t mean you can’t change it again later if you want to.
